Views:
(Redirected from Restoring Sql databases)
- Open the Microsoft Management Console (MMC)
- Register a new SQL server (Zeus)
- Check backups (On Zeus E:\ Drive E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Backup\) This is where ALL SQL Databses are backed up to.
- Browse the above directory to check the last backup. Note the filename down.
- Right click on R32.lmstest Databse in the console, Right Click - All Tasks - Restore Database
- Select "Restore from Device" and select the backed up file you require (Filename already noted down)
- When back at the Restore Window, edit the physical path of the database file and the physical path of the log file.
Important
the Physical path needs to be :
Makesure that it will overwrite the TEST DATABASE not r32lms!
r32_lmstest r32_lmstest.log
E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Servers\MSSQL\Data
Force Restore needs to be selected.
--
Make sure nobody is using test db!
--
Things that need to be changed in Resource:
- in Maintenance / IQ Param / change to LMS-TESTiq or it will report on the live database and not the test, also change the short company name to include ***TEST***. This is in System Control, Licensing, Short Company Name
AFTER ANY UPGRADE CHECK THAT THE BROMCOM OUTPUTS THE "LMSCODE" NOT "Tutor Code"
