Resource 32000 LMS and Finance

Resource DB

Service Runs from Atlas, connections are made from the R32_LMS ODBC. For MyEureka reporting, use the R32_LMSiq ODBC that point to a conduit database. The location of this is set from within Resource.

At somepoint, the Resource client will be run locally.

The Databse for LMS/Finance is hosted on a SQL 2005 server (Atlas) the database is called R32_LMS, the test db is called R32_LMStest.

The test database is a replica of live and is norammly created from a restore of live into the test Db (make sure that if this is done it point to the test db and DOES NOT OVERWRITE Live)

Corero NG

At this point in time (May 2008) the new portal for the Corero system is running on atlas, this links into the 'NG' database. The databse is stored on atlas in E:\NG Data. This is in beta. In the near future a script will import data from the LMS database overnight into the NG database. By August there will be a replacement core application that will be used instead of Resource 32000.

Procedures for Account Creation on Resource 32000

Resource LMS

An email will sent round to staff concerned with user account creation. This will confirm their Job Role and what department they will be working in.

Normally an email will also be sent from the Registry Manager if an account for Resource LMS is needed. Security is then setup based on their role. Normally this will be confirmed by the Registry Manager.

Security for all users is listed in a spreadhseet in the MIS Teams Area on the Pool Drive. Security is based on groups, the groups only have access to certain areas and users are associated to groups based on the area they work within the college.

These users must have the root menu set up as "root".

When a user leaves, the account will need to be deleted from LMS for security and data protection reasons. HR will send an email to the IS Department, detailing members of staff that have left the college. These users will then have their accounts removed from Resource.

Resource Finance

Users for Resource Finance must only be setup after receiving a confirmation email from the Resources Director or the Business Manager of Registry/Finance/MIS or Finance Manager. Under no circumstances must a user be created without prior confirmation. This includes any new users that will be added to the ordering system that did not previously have this as part of their job role.

The security for any user will be confirmed by the Finance Manager / Business Manager or the Resources Director.

When a user leaves, the account will need to be deleted from Resource Finance for security and data protection reasons. HR will send an email to the IS Department, detailing members of staff that have left the college. These users will then have their accounts removed from Resource.

Resource Finance - Ordering

All access to the ordering part of the system must be confirmed by the Resources Director.

Users are normally created by the Senior Martin. If an account is created in the absence of this member of staff, please make sure that an email notifying of the user creation is sent to

email.address@protected

Please check all security access before passing on the account details to the user. Please also make sure that the user is notified that they will need to create their own password and that there account will be disabled if a password is not set.

All user passwords for the system are encrypted and no member of staff (Including IS Staff) have access to these. For administrative purposes, A supervisor on Resource can reset user passwords.
