If you haven't already done so, set up the print server.
- Launch Imanager and select the 'iPrint' Section link.
- Then select the 'create printer' link.
- Select the container you want to place the new printer in.
- Enter a Printer Name using the following convention, PR-Room or PR-Office Name-Printer Type for example: PR-Room 20-Laser
- Under NDPS Manager Name Click the Browse (Magnifying glass) button, and find NDPS-MANAGER-NEW.VSFC (this is in the root of the tree)
- Under Gateway Types select Novell Printer Gateway, click Next
- On the new page, enter the Host Address (you can find the IP address of an internal print server by holding down the "Test" / "Go" / "Cancel & Go" on the printer and looking at the details printed out. For an external print server, make sure the printer is turned on and hold the Test button down for a few seconds to get a print out).
- For the Printer Name enter "Auto" or "Auto1", "Auto2" etc if the printer server being used has more than one port. Click Next
- Imanager will take a short while to set everything up and then open a window called Select Printer Driver. Click Next!
- On the next window , click OK
- Now select 'Manage Printer' from the menu at the side.
- Re-select the printer you have just created, and click OK
- Select the 'Drivers' tab, and then click the appropriate Operating system tab to add drivers.
- Select the appropriate driver from the list (if it is not in the list you will need to add it to the server - see >>Printers ndps drivers<<
- Click apply.
- In the access control section there are three lists, Managers, Operator and Users. Managers and Operators should be set to Support.VSFC. Users should be set to Staff.VSFC. Also, for printers in the Learner.VSFC container Daytime.Learner.VSFC and Adult.Learner.VSFC should be added.
- Click OK to confirm the changes and your printer is ready to release to the wild.
