NetStorage
Views:
NetStorage is the Novell Web Application which allows remote access to files. By default Netstorage makes a users home directory available, plus any drive mappings in any login scripts that would normally run when the user logs in to a PC.
Making additional folders/partitions availalble requires setting up Storage Objects - we have one for POOL and One for the IS Tech Drive.
Netstorage does not parse the mappings from the login script and only uses the Storage Objects and maps the users Home directory.
All user objects can login to the NetStorage web application - however they must have a home directory set. In the NetStorage settings you can specify every container which has users in to allow login.
NetStorage runs on Tethys. The NetStorage url is https://files.varndean.ac.uk/ - oh no it isn't - this defaults to the Groupwise login.
The admin page for NetStorage is https://files.varndean.ac.uk/oneNet/nsadmin/ you can also configure this from within iManager.
Netstorage uses LDAP to authenticate. The primary authentication domain at the moment is set to Athena.
