CIPHR Clients

CIPHR is now installed locally on 3 Machines, due to the small number of machines, it has been decided to abandon the idea of using the Snapshot method to install the CIPHR software.

All clients now have the report writer, although we are only licensed to use 2 at any one time. Also all clients have CIPHR business logic, and FKH has the training module installed.

The Installation Process

• CIPHR must be removed from the worksation before proceeding with any upgrades.

• Install CIPHR from the supplied CD or network share.

• Install any required client modules, but DO NOT install any databases locally.

• When asked set the database server to Atlas

• Install All required modules before performing a machine restart.

• Run CIPHR from the application launcher shortcut, as this will install any ODBC links that are needed, theses are stored in the registry settings of the object and also the INI section of the object - these will need to be changed if the database server changes at any time in the future.

SIR MODULE

This is run using a diffrent engine (equinox.exe) and is located in L:\Staff\MLE\CIPHR\.. This will normally not be upgraded as part of the CIPHR system upgrades.
