Imaging a non-networked laptop
Views:
- Enter Bios and change boot device to CDROM
- Place Imaging Bootable CD into Drive
- At the LILO prompt type “manual”
- When prompted for configuration etc. skip by pressing enter until you reach the BASH# prompt
- Remove the Bootable CD and replace with the CD with the appropriate image
- At the BASH# type “cdrom.s” this will mount the CDROM
- At the prompt type “hdparm -d1 /dev/hda” this will enable DMA support on the hard disk and
speed up the imaging process.
- At the prompt type "img restorel /mnt/cdrom/<Image Name>"
- The image will now download from the CD (this will take about 45mins)
- When the imaging process finishes remove the CD and type “reboot”
- Windows will now go through the mini setup process
when the client screen appears login as local administrator (tick workstation only box)
- Install the wireless card by using the setup utility provided on the CD (Cisco)
