Questionnaire Server

Easiquest runs as a web application on the IIS web server on Gonza. Questionnaires are written off the server, and then placed in a directory on the webserver to make them available on the intranet.

Writing Questionnaires

There is a desktop application available to staff which allows them to create questionnaires, bizzarly it's called Easiquest.

Publishing a Questionnaire

Copy the questionnaire file to \\gonzo\surveys\

The url to run the questionnaire is as follows:

http://gonzo.main.varndean.ac.uk/intraquest/chooselogin.asp?survey=<filename>.qst (replace the filename!)

Once the questionnaire has been complete by everyone, move it off the server and place back were you got it from (It may be a good idea to rename it first, i.e. so you now it's complete).

We have very good support available with Reference Point (the developers), their phone number is 01494-510-932.

Occaisionally the questionnaire files get mashed and there is nothing even they can do about it. Also IIS likes to crash after it's been doing lots of questionnaire. It's not their fault either, just restart IIS.

Links to Questionnaires

The surveys are linked from the Start Menu under Student Surveys. Application Objects are created for each survey (as a URL) the following procedure needs to be followed when setting up a new questionaire.

Once it is in the \\Gonzo\Surveys folder you need to create the app object... Follow this set of screen shots to create the object with the correct paramaters. You will need to edit some of the filenames etc to fit around the survey.

It needs to be a web application

Prefix the object name with QUESTIONNAIRES, make sure the name of the object reflects the name of the survey!

Enter the URL of the survey

Tick the Box!

Associtate to the Correct Groups, You will always need to have the Easiquest user group in the associations. Students will need to be in the associations when the survey goes live.
