How to install the CINTRA payroll client software
1. Pervasive client from Pervasive CD
The installer is in:
\Clients\Windows\Setup.exe
- Choose a complete install
- When asked about installing Java, choose not to do it. This is only necessary for the Pervasive Control Console, which we do not want to run on clients. Incidentally, this is available on the server
- In the 'Server' box, enter IP address for ZEUS (10.10.0.10), rather than DNS. Tick checkbox to test.
- Do not run transactional or relational tests
- At the end of the process, do not register the software
2. Cintra Payroll client
This is installed from:
Q:\Chouse\Cintra\NetSetup\Setup.exe
3. SOAP client
This is installed from:
Q:\Chouse\Cintra\SoapInstaller\Setup.exe
- Use default path
4. Setting communications with remote Cintra server
This is only necessary from two of our client computers (BL's ADMIN-19 & NC's ADMIN-55 at present). The machine has to be set up to use a DNS server that allows forwarding. A rule is needed in the firewall to allow the PC access to the internet on port 443. The remote server is at secure.cintra.co.uk.
The cintra software has a bug where by you cannot override the windows proxy settings, even if you correctly set the options in cintra. Currently a launch/terminate script is used to enable/disable proxy settings for the whole machine. This is set on the cintra application object
- Launch: C:\WINNT\System32\reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyEnable /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
- Terminate:C:\WINNT\System32\reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyEnable /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
- Script Host: %*WINSYSDIR%\CMD.EXE /C
Users will not be able to browse the web while using Cintra. (The intranet will still be accessible).
